What is the Code Club IT Scholarship?

Are you in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade of a high school in the Munich area and still have at least one year to go until your A-levels? Are you enthusiastic about computer science and have already implemented your own small IT projects, e.g. programmed websites or apps or already taken part in computer science competitions? Ideally, you are enthusiastic about web and app development or data science?

Then Code Club is the right thing for you! Apply now until January 6th, 2025.

About the Code Club pupil scholarship

Mentoring

Discuss the various aspects of software development with your mentor. Ask everything you ever wanted to know about working in IT and get expert input on your tech projects.

Tech sessions

Once a month, we organise expert seminars for our scholarship holders on a wide variety of IT topics (such as Git & GitHub, server administration, continuous integration, IT security, coding best practices). In doing so, we take your IT knowledge to the next level.

Exchange

Meet other IT pupils from Munich and the surrounding area, find out which cool tech projects they’re currently working on and share your experiences and knowledge – who knows, maybe you’ll come up with new project ideas as a result.

Events

A kick-off event is held at the start of each scholarship year. You’ll get to meet other scholarship students, plus your mentor. In autumn, we organize a hackathon for you, and you can look forward to a joint farewell event at the end of the scholarship. During the scholarship you will also meet the CHECK24 CTO, Philipp in person.

Pupil job

Want to put your programming skills into practice? You can complete a student internship or take on a paid student job. You’ll benefit from close support from experienced software developers who will give you regular feedback and tips to help you learn as much as possible and achieve your goals during your time here.

Pocket money

In addition to professional sponsorship, we also want to financially support you on your journey into the world of IT. Perhaps you’ve always wanted to rent a domain, complete a programming course on Udemy or buy a specialist book. That’s why you’ll receive a monthly allowance of 100 € during your scholarship year to use as you wish.

What should your application include?

Your CV including your address, contact information, school and grade level, programming knowledge, as well as previous experience (such as IT projects, programming competitions, student internships)

Your last two school certificates

An insight into one of your IT projects - Can't view your project online (e.g. project website, GitHub)? No problem! Simply send us part of the source code or screenshots via email to stipendium@check24.de (max. 10 MB)

Your answer to the following question: What do you like about computer science? What would you like to get out of the scholarship?

1. Online application

Send us your documents using our application form.

2. Pre-selection

We'll take a look at your application and project in detail.

3. Getting to know you

If you are suitable for the scholarship, we'll invite you for a face-to-face interview.

4. Acceptance

Following a successful interview, you'll be accepted onto the scholarship.

FAQ

When can I apply for the IT student scholarship?

The application phase starts every year in November and runs until the beginning of January of the following year.

It is important that you have at least one and no more than two years of school left before you graduate from high school. This is because we want to ensure that the framework program of the student scholarship is a positive addition to your school lessons and does not interfere with your time preparing for your Abitur.
